Coimbatore: WINX from Bharath Unvieresity, Chennai, won the Dr Abdul Kalam trophy, along with a prize money of Rs 10,000 in the Aircraft Design contest, organised by as a tribute to the former president on this 84th birth day today.
More than 15 teams made their presentations, bringing out their innovative and creative technical skills for design of the aircraft for the civil aviation industry.
Team REC Aero of Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai and Team 3EJet of Park College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore won the first and second runners prize of Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 and trophies respectively.
In the Aero modeling competition for engineering college students, Team NGPIANS from Dr.NGP Institute of Technology, Coimbatore won the first prize and a trophy and Team AERO UTSAV from Bharath University, Chennai was the runners.
