Few takers for AI's Mysuru-Bengaluru flight

Mysuru:  Despite Air India commencing its low-carriage flight operation between Bengaluru and Mysuru a month ago, Alliance Air, the subsidiary of AI, has failed to attract travellers. The high ticket fare is considered one of the major reasons, apart from lack of connectivity.

After SpiceJet discontinued commercial flights between Mysuru and Bengaluru, Air India started its ATR flight from September 3, after much consideration. It flies early morning six days a week, except Sundays.

The service started in a bid to promote tourism and boost investment in Mysuru. But over the past month, the number of passengers has hardly crossed two digits. On Friday, nine passengers arrived from Bengaluru, and nine left for Bengaluru. On Thursday, five passengers arrived and 15 travelled to Bengaluru.
