Chennai: Customs officials at Chennai airport have arrested a man for smuggling reptiles, mongooses and insects from Malaysia.
The accused has been identified as Habeeb Nashtar, an Indian passport holder. He came to Chennai on a Malaysian Airlines (MH-180) flight on Thursday night.
While screening the parcels at the Chennai cargo unit, the officials found live reptiles and other beings kept in separate enclosures.
