NEW DELHI: Two foreigners have been arrested for trying to smuggle gold worth Rs 1.24 crore at IGI airport.
Customs officials said a man from Uzbekistan and a woman from Kazakhstan were arrested on Thursday for allegedly trying to smuggle the gold weighing 5.3kg.
"Both the passengers were hi ding the gold articles in the form of wheels of a trolley bag. They had al so painted silver colour on gold keys and were carrying gold buckles and chains which were painted black," said a customs official.
