Mumbai: National carrier Air India took steps to ensure that during emergencies or any crisis situation, airlines and related agencies are ready to identify and plug all the gaps in a coordinated manner. A conference was held by Air India and Star Alliance on the emergency response training conference in Mumbai on Monday.
"The conference highlighted and discussed in detail, the issues involved in a crisis situation and sought ways to evolve an effective mechanism to tide over such crises," said a release issued by the airline.
Markus Ruediger, director media relations at Star Alliance said, "The purpose of this training program is to understand the requirements of a local authority and the resources available at that point in time. Identifying the gaps involved in a communication during crisis and evaluating solutions to fill those gaps is extremely crucial. Cross carrier drills should also be encouraged for a better disaster management."
