Delhi airport on alert after UFO spottings

The Indian Air Force has been deployed to step-up security at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi.

Security personnel working at the airport have been unnerved for some time with the appearances of suspicious flying objects.

A meeting of the Intelligence Bureau, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Bureau for Civil Aviation Security and the Delhi Police sought the assistance of the IAF to look out for any such aerial threat.

On Friday, an IAF staffer, while keeping a watch over the airport from the air traffic control (ATC) tower, reported seeing an unidentified flying object (UFO) thrice.

The first one flew over runway 9-27 at 10.44am local time and the other two flew outside the airport's boundary at 10:50am and 10:55am, the local media reported.

The flying objects were reported to be eight nautical miles away from the airport.
