An immigration official was attacked at the Anna International Airporthere this morning, resulting in tension for a while at the airport premises.
Airport sources said three city-based traders were detained for questioning forassaulting the official.
The trio--Jayaraman, Anwar, Raut--wereabout to board a flight to Colombo, when the immigrant official Kasinathan (46) after checking their passports, questioned the purpose of their frequent visits to Colombo.
In the melee, a wordy duel ensued betweenthe official and the trio, who in a fit of rage, assaulted Kasinathan.
