CHENNAI: German airliner Lufthansa has cancelled all its flights to and from India after a pilots' union went on a strike in Germany.
In India, Lufthansa operates services from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru.
The cancelled services include four flights between Frankfurt and Chennai.
The Chennai-Frankfurt flight scheduled for departure at 1.50am on Thursday and Friday were cancelled. Two more flights from Frankfurt to Chennai have also been cancelled.
An information posted on the airline website shows that there will not be alternative flights.
In a statement, Airports Authority of India (AAI) said that passengers should contact Lufthansa's office at Chennai airport at +91 44 22569393, fax +91 44 22560174, E-mail: maastteam@dlh.de.
The airport issued the statement after it started to receive calls from passengers to know about the flight status.
