Patna: Security has been stepped up at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport ahead of the swearing-in of CM-elect Nitish Kumar on November 20 at Patna Gandhi Maidan in view of the arrival of many VIPs and VVIPs from across the country.
"The standard operating procedure for the VIPs and VVIPs will be followed for the arrival and departure of the guests who will come to attend the swearing-in," said Rajendra Singh Lahauria, director, Patna airport.
The airport director said the air traffic control (ATC) people have estimated that there would not be any air traffic congestion over Patna airport. "The rush of aircraft carrying VIP and VVIP guests will be lesser than the number of aircraft landing and departing during the electioneering for Bihar assembly polls. We do not think there will be any need to reschedule commercial flights on November 20," he added.
