US Inc bullish on Indian aviation biz

Bengaluru: Heralding a new phase in the Indo-US aviation dialogue, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju stressed on opening more flights and airline traffic between India and the US, which will help citizens of either countries, and also impact the respective economies.

“While there are a slew of flights from India to the US, there aren’t many flights from the US to India,” Raju quipped, as he addressed delegates at the 2015 US-India Aviation Summit in Bengaluru, on Wednesday.

Referring to the Centre’s latest civil aviation policy, Raju informed that there is encouragement being given to regional airlines, along with strides made in the areas of skill development.

Meanwhile, the three-day summit, which will culminate on Thursday, is in its fifth edition, and has entered Bengaluru, scouting for good business potential.
