Hubballi: Air India is likely to operate flights from Hubballi to Mumbai soon.
There is a huge demand for flight service between the two cities as people of North Karnataka presently rely on buses and trains.
Earlier, Spicejet operated a flight to Delhi via Mumbai and Jabalpur. But the service was withdrawn in March, after a flight skidded off the runway in Hubballi airport. No one was injured in the incident.
Given the demand for flight services to Mumbai, MP Prahlad Joshi held discussions with Air India authorities to introduce the flight service and the response was positive.
