Air India bags National Environment Health and Safety award

New Delhi: Air India has bagged the National Environment Health and Safety Award 2015 for its contribution in reducing carbon emissions.

The award has been instituted by the World Quality Congress and World Sustainability Forum.

Congratulating the employees for the accolade, Ashwani Lohani, CMD of Air India said, "The award is a positive affirmation of the continuous efforts made by Air India to protect the environment. The implementation of Air India's Environment Management System (EMS) has resulted in the reduction of carbon emissions this year," Air India Chairman and Managing Director Ashwani Lohani said in a release.
Air India is the first airline in India to establish an environment policy and follow an Environment Management System (EMS), it said.
