Air India to operate special flight to Arrakonam from Hyderabad

With the efficient rescue teams deployed by the IAF (Indian Airf Force) and NDRF ( National Disaster Response Force) several people have been saved. Over past two days they have rescued hundreds of people from what is the called the most devastating floods to have ravaged the metropolitan city in over hundreds years.
Rescue operations to take people stranded in different parts of the city to safer zones, are going strong in Chennai.
Under an in a position management, the naval base, situated 70 kms south of Chennai, and the Tambaram Air Base, nearly 30 kms outdoors the capital metropolis, have turn out to be the 2 nerve centres on the rescue operations map.
"Our duty is to save peoples' lives and this occasion fills us with pride and humility", a senior Naval official told PTI here.
Arakkonam naval base: Pride was writ giant on the faces of naval staff at Arakkonam Base, the strategic defence asset that is enjoying a stellar and important position in finishing up the rescue and aid operations for people affected by the torrential rains in Chennai.
