AVM organizes Seminar on Amritsar Int'l Airport as a potential booster for State Economy

Amritsar: Amritsar Vikas Manch yesterday organized a seminar for the development of Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Aiprort as a potential booster for the whole state of Punjab at RITZ Hotel, Mall Road. Shri V. Venkateswara Rao, Director Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport was honored for his distinguished and sincere efforts for the promotion of Amritsar Airport. Representatives of various airlines including Air India, Uzbekistan, Airport and Commercial manager also participated in the seminar. Shri Gagan Malik, former Director & General Manager Airport projects, Shri Naveen Kumar Commercial Manager were presented with Guest of Honor award by AVM. Shri Dinesh Kumar Airport Manager and Shri Randhir Singh from Air India were also honored.
Hardeep Singh Chahal, General Secretary AVM and President Er. Daljit Singh Kohli introduced and welcomes the guests. Dr. Balwinder Singh Professor Shri Guru Ram Das School of Planning GNDU gave a presentation on the Amritsar Heritage and how it can be used for tourism. Er. Sameep Singh Gumtala, Director Global Connections Amritsar Vikas Manch from USA gave a presentation on the past, present and future of Amritsar Airport, overview of various flights and connections and about the role and achievements of AVM. Dr. Sukhdev Singh, President INTACh Punjab requested airlines to start direct flights to Birmingham. Er. Harjap Singh Aujla, Patron AVM USA requested various airlines including Air India and Jet Airways to provide better connectivity for international passengers especially late evening to midnight from Delhi to Amritsar.
