Bhutan Airlines may start flights from Andal

Andal: Bhutan Airlines has expressed interest to start services from Andal to Bhutan, Mamata Banerjee said in Durgapur on Thursday.

The memorandum of understanding may be signed between Bengal Aerotropolis Project Limited, the promoters of the Andal airport, and Tashi Air Private Limited at the Bengal Global Business Summit in Januray 2016 in Kolkata, in the presence of Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay . Partha Ghosh, BAPL MD, nfirmed that they had recei confirmed that they had received a written expression of interest from Bhutan Airlines for flight operations between Andal and Bhutan. "We are working on the proposal and the services are expected to start next year," Ghosh said. The airline was likely to operate Airbus A-319, sources added.

Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport will be the first greenfield private airport in India to start commercial inter-state flight operations from Andal to New Delhi from December 7.TISS meet: The city meet of Tata Institute of Social Sciences was organized by their alumni association in Kolkata on November 29.
