The Union government is yet to give the green signal to a proposal from the Singapore government to operate and maintain Ahmedabad and Jaipur airports.
“The proposal has come from the Singapore government in the form of a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU). We are yet to sign the agreement,” a senior government official said.
According to sources, Singapore’s Changi Airport has proposed to operate and maintain the airports at Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
The Singapore Changi airport is owned and operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. At present, Changi airport has over 36 per cent stake in Bengal Aerotropolis Projects at Durgapur which began operations in May this year. The draft agreement proposes to cover design, planning, operations and management at the Ahmedabad and Jaipur airports.
