KOCHI: Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) figured sixth in the number of foreign tourists availing e-tourist visa in November 2015.
A total of 83,501 foreign tourists arrived in the country on e-tourist visa in November 2015, as compared to 2,968 during the month of October 2014, registering a growth of 2,713.4 per cent. UK continues to occupy top spot followed by USA, France and Germany amongst the countries availing e-tourist visa facility.
The airports that topped the chart in tourists availing e-tourist visa are New Delhi Airport (45.04 per cent), Mumbai Airport (17.72 per cent), Goa Airport (14.62 per cent), Bengaluru Airport (5.57 per cent), Chennai Airport (5.16 per cent), Kochi Airport or CIAL (3.56 per cent), Kolkata Airport (2.27 per cent), Hyderabad Airport (2.19 per cent), Trivandrum Airport (1.44 per cent) and Ahmedabad Airport (0.93 per cent).
