Cold Storage Soon for Food Cargo at Airport

Bwngaluru:  The Kempe Gowda International Airport will soon have a 2.6 acre wide cold storage facility for cargo carrying perishable food items.

Cold chain provider, Rinac India Limited,will be carrying out the work of setting up cold storage rooms also known as Coolport to preserve food items in transit.

This sanction for the order was approved by Air India SATS Airport ServicesPrivate Limited,which is owned partly by Air India Ltd.

 The National Carrier of India is taking the help of Singapore based SATS Ltd, a premium ground and cargo handling company, to monitor the food.

The project estimated to be worth `21.75 crore will be completed within six months,a statement said.
