Nashik: Operation at the Ozar airport terminal may get delayed by a month with the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) extending the date for opening bids to appoint a private company for the operation, development, maintenance and management of the facility on a revenue-sharing basis.
The opening of the bids has been now rescheduled from January 12 to January 30. HAL is planning to operate, develop, maintain and manage the Ozar airport terminal on a revenue-sharing basis on the lines of the facilities in Delhi and Mumbai.
Speaking to TOI, a source in HAL said, "We are planning to appoint an operator or agency to operate and develop Ozar airport. We are in the process and have invited bid for the purpose. We extended the date to open the bid because of some technical reasons."
The source added, "We recently conducted a pre-bid meeting, which was mandatory for the companies before filing the bids. Five companies have shown their willingness to operate and develop the terminal."
