The Madurai airport has got Wi-Fi connectivity that would enable passengers and visitors to get access to Internet through their laptops and smartphones. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has provided the connectivity and the service is under trial now.
“The Wi-Fi facility is under trial at the airport since November 26,” said Airport Director Kuldeep Singh Rishi.
At present, passengers and visitors were given 15 minutes of free Wi-Fi connectivity in a calendar month inside the new terminal building.
However, the Airport Authority of India had been asking the BSNL to increase the free usage time to 30 minutes, Mr. Rishi said.
Passengers and visitors would have to login to the site of the service provider and key in personal details such as mobile phone number and e-mail identity to avail themselves of the service.
