Partner yet to be chosen for airport project

The spanking new Smart City plan with over Rs 40,000-crore projects of both Cidco and NMMC will soon be on the international radar. Currently, the wait is on for the selection of a reputed strategic partner in the New Year to develop the phase-wise Rs 16,000 crore Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).
A meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, of the Union civil aviation ministry to evaluate the RFP (request for proposal) documents and certify the concession and shareholders' agreement, among other formalities.
The Union home ministry's security clearance to the four big players, who have pre-qualified for the project, will be obtained and communicated to the parties soon.
