Chennai: An Air India woman cabin crew member was caught pilfering food items meant for inflight use on an international flight on the Chennai-Colombo-Chennai sector.
Sources said the incident came to light when the crew member's bag was screened on a baggage screening machine after the flight AI 274 arrived from Colombo to Chennai on Wednesday night. The airline's vigilance officials were informed. Officials seized the stolen items and detained her.
An Air India official said that the cabin crew member was taken off the roster and disciplinary action was being initiated against her.
