Air passengers get Wi-Fi service as gift

The Trichy International Airport is all set to launch its Wi-Fi service on Friday. The project that was on the cards for quite sometime will serve as a New Year gift to passengers using the terminal.
The airport is undergoing a complete makeover after it has been witnessing a spike in the number of foreign travellers. As part of it, Wi-Fi facility has been installed with the help of BSNL operators, said the airport authorities.
The Wi-Fi service will be similar to the facilities that are provided in other airports in the country as well as abroad. Officials will be there at the airport to guide passengers on the service. Passengers can use the first 30min at free of cost depending on the Internet Service Provider (ISP). The user has to then obtain a card from the ISP for further usage and seamless service. Passengers will be charged after exceeding the free usage period, however the charge is not yet known.
