Bomb scare: Car gets towed away from airport

Bengaluru: As was his routine whenever he flew out of town on work, senior law firm associate Kota Chandan parked his car in the overnight parking lot at Kempegowda International Airport last Friday morning. To his shock when he returned on Sunday he found that the vehicle had disappeared. Frantic questioning of airport officials revealed that the car had reportedly been towed away because security officials suspected the beaded cushion on the driver's seat contained a bomb inside. 29-year-old Chandan's identity was verified and he was finally taken to his car at a secluded location near the cargo area, where he saw the vehicle surrounded by two layers of metal barricades.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials, along with Bomb Disposal Squad officials and the local police inspected every inch of the car - starting with the beaded seat cushion with its steel wool poking out - and realised there was no bomb inside, but had left it barricaded as a 'precautionary measure.'
