Bathinda: A fresh row has erupted over the naming of Chandigarh airport. Punjab industries minister Madan Mohan Mittal has given another twist to ongoing controversy over the name of Mohali international airport. Speaking here on Wednesday, Mittal, a BJP leader, demanded that the international airport should be named as Lala Lajpat Rai international airport.
Earlier, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal had stated the airport should be named after revolutionary Bhagat Singh. Later, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar had sought the airport to be named after RSS leader.
Meanwhile, Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) 'padyatra' to demand naming of Mohali Airport after Bhagat Singh reached Ropar on Wednesday. The PYC members are marching to the airport from Khatkar Kalan, native village of the martyr.
