Panaji: Pointing out that M/s Camping Retreats India Pvt Ltd, which has over 10 years experience in conducting hot air balloon flights all over India, has all the necessary permissions to conduct such activities in state, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) said that the hot air balloon service is operated by adhering to the highest standards of safety and security prescribed by director-general Civil aviation.
It also said that safety of operations is governed by directorate General of Civil Aviation, flight path and flight take off area is governed by Airport Authority of India (ATC) and for Goa it is Naval ATC, local police intimation is required when there is a gathering of crowd. GTDC said that permissions have been obtained for operations in Goa from Naval ATC, forest department, NOTAM from Naval Aviation under clearance from Chennai ATC, DGCA Registration, police and fire clearance.
GTDC said that there is no requirement under any law to seek permission for hot air balloon activities from the village panchayat and so it has no intention of approaching the village panchayat of Varca for any permissions.
