Intense security check to be imposed at Lucknow airport

Lucknow: The Lucknow airport authorities have decided to impose intense security check at the terminal buildings in the wake of Republic Day on January 26. The decision was taken after a security and safety work meeting between airport authorities and distrist administration on Saturday.
Both, the airport authorities and district administration were of the view to have additional civil force to check the vehicles and persons at the airport enty and exit points and at the parking area. District magistrate Raj Shekhar said that the administration would be requesting the SSP to provide the security personnels. Airport authorities said that the additional security was also needed in the wake of recent attack at the airbase in Pathankot. A senior official in the airport said that rigorous checking by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Airport Authority of India (AAI) is being carried out around the premises of airport.
Sources privy to the meeting said that the airport director, SC Hota requested for help form tehsil and police for demarcation and coordination with airport and people. "We have sought help from ADM, SDM and Circle Officer so that safety concerned works are completed soon,'' said the official.
