Man caught with smuggled gold worth 14.5 lakh

Jaipur: When a team of customs department frisked a gold smuggler at Jaipur International Airport on Monday, they were shocked to recover gold in small quantities hidden at every possible place - from a pen's refill to his shirt's button.
The search of the man, who was flying down to Jaipur from Dubai, coughed up nearly 588 gram of gold. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, is a resident of Laxmangarh. "When he came out of the flight, his mannerism raised suspicion. His shirts had buttons of unusual size. We detained and searched him. His shirt was sent for examination. It came up he had hidden gold in very small quantities in his shirt buttons," said a customs department officer.
