New civil aviation policy will focus on regional connectivity, minister says

Trichy: The new civil aviation policy that is being formulated would make the Indian skies vibrant by promoting regional connectivity, said Union civil aviation minister Gajapathi Raju on Friday.
The minister, who was on a two-day visit to Trichy to study the problems and progresses of the international airport here, said the Centre and the Tamil Nadu government would work together for its development.
The minister held discussions with airport officials on the status of land acquisition required for the extension of the runway and bringing the airport under the bilateral air services agreement (BASA).
