The ambitious proposal for setting up a Greenfield airport at the coal town of Kothagudem received yet another fillip with a team of officials from the Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) on Tuesday launching a fortnight-long comprehensive survey in Kothagudem constituency on the much awaited airport project.
The State Government has already approved the pre-feasibility report prepared by a team of technical experts from the RITES last year and urged the public sector company to proceed with the next stage of the project, the sources said.
Meanwhile, a four-member team from RITES called on Kothagudem MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao in the coal town on Tuesday.
