Trichy: It is not special trains or buses that are in demand anymore during the festival period in the country as more and more are opting for the aerial route. Industrialists and travel associations have suggested for the introduction of special air services during festivals in the country.
In view of the upcoming Mahamaham festival, where at least three lakh people are expected to land in the state, travel federation members across the state held a meeting with the civil aviation minister suggested introduction of flight services based on seasonal demand to destinations.
One of the members from the travel fraternity, who was present at the discussion convened by the Trichy Travel Federation members at a city hotel here, said the federation members gave the minister a detailed presentation on the issues plaguing the airport.
