Thiruvananthapuram: A high-level meeting chaired by Minister for Public Works V. K. Ebrahim Kunju has decided to expedite the works for the three approach roads to Kannur International Airport.
The meeting, attended by Minister for Ports, Excise and Airports K. Babu, here on Wednesday decided to award the works of the Kara-Peravoor Road, Mattannur-Pazhassi Canal-Kara Road and Parakkadavu-Kallikkandy-Paratt-Cheruvanchery-Valiyavelicham-Kuthuparambu-Anjarakandy-Airport Road within a month. The government has given administrative sanction for the three roads that is to cost Rs. 28 crore.
The PWD (NH) wing will take up improvement of the Kannur-Mattannur road for which the NHAI has sanctioned Rs. 15 crore. The PWD will take up the repair works of the existing Vayanthode-Anjarakkandy Road immediately.
