All about plane spotting

Thiruvananthapuram: Ever wondered why we enter an airplane from the left side and never through the right side? Ever been fascinated by the Airbus A380, the largest passenger aircraft in the world?

Plane Spotters Kerala, an informal group of aviation enthusiasts, has been making attempts to educate people on the trends in the aviation industry for nearly a year now.

The collective, which came together as Facebook group, conducted a two-day aviation photography exhibition at the Museum hall in Thiruvananthapuram, which concluded on Saturday.

“Our passion for aviation and plane spotting brought us together. We do not spare any opportunity to capture rare instances in aviation industry even if it means going to the airport at an unearthly hour,” says Sharon J. Raj, senior coordinator of the group.
The exhibition had images of aircraft parts and milestones in the industry. Barring a handful sourced from the internet, most photographs were contributed by members of the group from across the world.
