12,000 Visit Last Day of India Aviation; Crowds Lament 'Average' Show

Hyderabad: The India Aviation show 2016 saw a footfall of over 12,000 people at the Begumpet Airport on Sunday, the concluding day of the mega event.

Though a crowd-puller, the show reportedly did not garner the similar response from the generall public as it did from the business sector.

Slightly disappointed from this year’s show, a 25-year-old Arjun says: “The other aircrafts flew past even before the public could see them. It was only the Air India aircraft which the general public could see properly. Yes, the stunts performed by aerobatic aircrafts were brilliant. It was, overall, a fun-filled event. However, it would have turned out to be much better had we been able to see other aircrafts too.”

It may be noted that the last two days of the event was open for public. Another visitor, Eashwar (32) said, “I expected something bigger but it turned out to be an average event. It would have been better if there were other aircrafts on display too. Watching an aircraft from a distance of 50 feet was something I didn’t look forward to.”

For a 22-year-old Chetan, an aeronautical engineering student, the event was a huge hit, except for a minor misses. “I was expecting to see the Dreamliner but it was only an Air India A350. However, the exhibition was good. It was organised well and the stunt show was amazing.”

The Global Stars Team led by pilots Mark Jefferies, Tom Cassells, Chris Burkett, Steve Carver and Michael Pickin was the show-stopper of the event. Their nail biting stunts left the onlookers thrilled.

The show will be back again in the March of 2018.
