Chennai: Customs authorities at the airport here today seized gold weighing 6.5 kg from a woman and unaccounted cash of Rs 20 lakh from two men, officials said.
The 38-year-old woman, identified as Jayanthi, arrived by an Air Asia flight from Kuala Lumpur. During checking, a concealment of gold in the form of biscuits in her undergarment was detected, they said. She is a native of Madurai and is being questioned for smuggling gold worth about Rs 2.12 crore.
