Panaji: As another long weekend approaches, air fares have already sniffed it coming. Taking a flight to Goa for residents from metros, for the weekend starting March 24 with Holi, is going to prove a predictably expensive affair.
Air tickets to Goa from Bangalore already cost three times the regular fare on March 24 and the air fare from Mumbai, Chennai and Ahmedabad doubled, with still over two weeks to go.
Flight tickets from Bangalore to Goa, which are usually priced at 1,599, will cost 4,719 on Holi day.
The fare from Mumbai has doubled from 2,336 during most of March to 5,975 on March 24.
Similarly, Chennai and Ahmedabad fares have gone from 2,823 to 4,571 and from 3,673 to 6,602, respectively, on rangapanchami day.
If holidayers are looking to cheat by booking themselves a day earlier to Goa, there will be no respite as the fare for March 23 too has already been hiked as well by up to 3,000 higher than the usual fares for the route.
