Flight delayed, passengers fret without food

As many as 160 passengers travelling by Go Air flight G8 364 to Mumbai were stranded at Ahmedabad airport on Tuesday night as the flight was late by two hours. To add to their inconvenience, shops and restaurants at the airport had closed down, leaving the passengers at the mercy of the airlines. The flight which was scheduled to depart for Mumbai at 11.45 pm finally took off at 1.45 am. "The airline would not give us a time of departure.
There were no canteen or food stores open inside the terminal and we were not allowed to step out to get food," said Hinal Aswani, a passenger travelling to Mumbai from Ahmedabad. "Our boarding pass was ready. Everything went smoothly till at the time of departure, the airlines suddenly announced that the flight will be delayed. They would not even commit to a departure time," complained Ganesh Darekar, a businessman from Mumbai. Go Air official told Mirror that the delay was because of a problem at Mumbai airport. An Air India flight had burst a tyre at Mumbai airport on Tuesday night, disturbing flight movement at the airport. "Due to congestion at Mumbai airport we could not commit an exact time, but we provided passengers with refreshments.
