GoAir inks agreement with HAL for diversion of flights

Nashik: After getting nod from the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), the private airline operator GoAir has signed an agreement with the company for diversion of flights from Ozar airport, 20 kms from Nashik city.
The state government and the HAL have jointly built an airport terminal at a cost of Rs 84 crore.
The GoAir wants to use the Ozar airport for diversion of flights as an alternate to Mumbai airport in case of emergency. The HAL has given its nod and both the companies have signed an agreement for the purpose.
Speaking to TOI, a senior official from GoAir, said, "We have signed agreement with the HAL for diversion of flights. Now, we are waiting for Director General Civil Aviation's (DGCA) approval for the Instrument Landing System (ILS). We want to use Ozar airport for diversion of flights as an alternate to the Mumbai airport in case of emergency. He added, "If the aircraft flying towards Mumbai from Delhi and it is unable to land in Mumbai airport terminal due to some technical reasons or due to heavy air traffic, then we will be able to divert flight to Nashik airport terminal."
