IAF plane tyre bursts while landing at Jolly Grant Airport, flights cancelled

Dehradun: A senior Army officer and seven other Army and Air Force officers on board an IAF transport plane had a narrow escape on Saturday morning when a tyre of the plane burst during its landing at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. Nobody was injured and the eight passengers and two pilots were safe.
The aircraft, however, was stuck on the runway temporarily halting operations at the airport, located around 27 km from Dehradun city. All flights to and from Dehradun have been cancelled, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded.
RK Gupta, senior superintendent at Jolly Grant Airport, told TOI, "The incident occurred around 9.15am on Saturday. It's an Avro series plane of IAF and there were eight persons and two crewmen onboard. A tyre of the plane burst while landing and the craft was stranded in the middle of the runway."
