New Delhi: A 30-year-old man, an Israeli national, was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by the Delhi police for carrying live rounds of ammunition in his suitcase.
The accused, identified as Yoav Koren, a native of Israel, had come to India with five rounds of ammunition in his bag, the Delhi police said.
“After Koren arrived at the airport, he went through the metal detector and the alarm started ringing. He was immediately escorted by the Central Industrial Security Force for frisking and checking of his suitcase. On frisking him, they found nothing, but while searching his bag they found five rounds of live ammunition,” said deputy commissioner of police, IGI Airport, Dinesh Kumar Gupta.
