The airports at Mumbai and Delhi, which often compete with each other for being the best private airport in the country, came neck to neck in ranking in an annual survey of passengers done by Airport Council International (ACI).
Furthermore, Jaipur is the only other Indian airport which found mention in the survey topping the category for best airports by size and region (in 2-5 million passenger category).
The ACI survey declared a tie between the airports as both of them were declared the best airports in service quality in the category of airport ferrying between 25-40 million passengers per year.
As per the ACI website, the survey was done with over 5,50,000 in-depth passenger at over 300 airports across more than 80 countries worldwide last year. "ASQ has statistically validated the winners to ensure accuracy and, as such, a tie indicates that no statistical difference has been found between the scores of two or more airports," said ACI in its report.
"Airports' increasing concentration on ensuring a stellar passenger experience is part of a larger trend," noted Angela Gittens, director general, ACI World, in the report.
