Vigil has been enhanced at the Tiruchi international airport consequent to an alert following intelligence inputs that terrorists from Pakistan had sneaked into the country through Gujarat.
Visitors’ entry into the airport has been prohibited from March 8 to 12. Acting on the alert, Central Industrial Security Force personnel have enhanced the screening of passengers and their belongings at the airport which had been categorised as “sensitive”.
Quick Reaction Team had been put on alert to act in times of any emergency situation. Patrolling by CISF personnel in the city side of the airport as well as in the air side have been stepped up.
