Pawan Hans, the PSU helicopter service company, has been operating out of the Juhu aerodrome for many years. However, a proposal is under consideration in the aviation ministry, which recommends Pawan Hans to have complete control of the aerodrome's operations. The aerodome, that is currently run by Airport Authority of India, has two runaways. It was founded in the late 1920s and is India's first civil aviation airport. Besides being the base of Pawan Hans, it is also used by small and executive aircrafts owned by hobby flyers and corporate honchos, so all eyes are on this transfer of responsibilities.
