SpiceJet crew dances to celebrate Holi with on-board passengers

SpiceJet crew treated their guests to Holi celebrations inside the aircraft on Tuesday before take off at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The crew members danced to Balam Pichkari, the popular Holi song from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani among other Holi songs, while some of the passengers also grooved to the music.
SpiceJet also handed their customers with water less Holi stickers promoting an environment friendly water conserving festival. SpiceJet is also running a contest for their customers with which they can win a free return ticket. Customers have to paste the sticker on their friends or relatives and pose a selfie with it and post it on social networking sites with #WaterlessHoli. The passengers also actively participated in the fun celebrations.
SpiceJet had ran into a controversy last year when crew danced in mid-air. Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had earlier rejected a proposal to celebrate Holi on board in their domestic flights. In 2014, dance sequence as a part of Holi celebrations lead to the suspension of two pilots. DGCA had issues show casue notice to the airline. In February 2015, Jet Airways suspended five crew members of a chartered flight after Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam was allowed to sing while in mid-air. DGCA had take the incident again seriously.
