Kalaburagi: Public Works Minister H.C. Mahadevappa has clarified that there are no legal or design hurdles for the construction of the remaining portion of the airport in Kalaburagi.
Replying to an unstarred question in the Legislative Council by BJP MLC Amarnath Patil, the Minister said that the Public Works Department has been entrusted with the responsibility of completing the remaining portion of the runway and other infrastructure works and Rites Ltd. has been appointed supervision consultant for the project.
Dr. Mahadevappa said that Rites Ltd. has submitted a detailed estimate for completing the remaining portion of the work.
Based on the report submitted by Rites Ltd., the Public Works Department had floated tenders for Rs. 72.28 crore to complete the work and technical bids were under consideration now.
