Jaipur: Rajasthan government is all set to restart a closed flying school in Jaipur under public-private partnership (PPP) mode. Government owned agency PDCOR has been asked to prepare a bidding document while expression of interest (EOI) is expected to be issued next week.
State will lease out its airstrip and other infrastructure initially for a period of 20 years. The private player will have to chip in with other assets like airplane and needed manpower for training.
"It is decided to take PPP mode to start the flying club. Government will not invest any money and a successful bidder will look after the management and administration of the club. There will not be transfer of any assets or land," said senior official of the general administration department.
"Services of PDCOR have been sought to make bidding document and we hope that EOI will be released by the end of next week. There should not be any problem in starting a flying school as the state already has permission from the directorate general of civil aviation to operate a flying school," added the official. In EOI interested firm will be invited to give their presentation. Based on those discussions, state will issue the bidding document.
