Novoair to launch Dhaka-Guwahati flight

Novoair, a private airliner of the country, is going to launch international flight in Northeast Indian city Guwahati by October this year to tap growing air market.

Sohail Majid, head of marketing and sales, Novoair, said Druk airlines, lone foreign carrier operates flight in this route. But it has a huge opportunity considering business travellers and tourists as this city is gateway to North-east India.

“For the first time in Bangladesh, Novoair is going to launch a new wing which will connect Guwahati with four cities including Dhaka, Chittagong and Kolkata. It will open a new era for the businessmen specially for Assam and Chittagong based businessmen,” said Majid.

Historically, Assam and Meghalaya have lot of tea gardens. Most of the tea businessmen of Assam come Chittagong for auctioning their tea. Moreover, Shilong, Guwahati, Cherapunji are an attractive tourist spots for Bangladeshis, specially for rain forest attract tourists, he further said.
