Bhopal: A Hyderabad bound Air India flight from Bhopal was delayed by about 40 minutes at Jabalpur airport as it could not land due to congestion at the airport on Sunday. The flight remained airborne till it was given go ahead for landing.
Sources said the airport bay already had a chartered aircraft belonging to noted industrialist Anil Ambani while an air ambulance was air-lifting a critical patient.
Flight from Bhopal was scheduled to land at noon. Airport sources said the delay was on account of the air-ambulance that was given permission in an emergency.
"Ambani's aircraft was scheduled to land in advance and it did not result in the delay. The air-ambulance arrived due to a medical emergency and that resulted in congestion as it was not pre-planned."
