The charge hearing in the high-profile Imphal airport contraband drug seizure case has been scheduled on July 8 by a Special Court of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (ND&PS), at Lamphel on Thursday.
Four of the five accused who have been charge sheeted by the CBI in connection with the case appeared before the court on Thursday. Okram Henry, the nephew of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, was granted dispensation under health ground after his lawyers approached the court. Two medical distributors from New Delhi, Ranvir Tyagi and Rajneesh Kumar, along with Md Rajauddin were given anticipatory bail upon furnishing PR bonds of Rs one lakh each. The CBI team also submitted Relevant Papers (RP) before the Court in connection with the case.
