Chennai: Tension prevailed at the airport here after an altercation between a senior official and a contract labourer with regard to finishing a particular job. Subsequently, the officer is said to have attacked the worker, which led to tension.
According to sources, Airport official Advani entered into a quarrel with Praveen, a contract employee, about not doing his work properly. The wordy duel degenerated into a physical fight as Advani reportedly lost his temper and attacked Praveen, causing injuries.
"Once news of the fight spread around the airport, contract workers’ advocate filed a complaint with the airport police," sources said.
